EXCULPATIONS

This table provides one thousand technical terms which can be used for a multitude of purposes. It is especially useful for explaining why a previous forecast didn't pan out, or, when in doubt, for explaining what will happen next.

To use, choose a three-digit number (may include leading zeroes), and then match column A to the hundreds digit, column B to the tens digit, and column C to the units digit.

For example, a local pilot wants to know why yesterday's forecast went bust. First, think of a three-digit number such as 012. 0 in column A, 1 in column B, and 2 in column C... Then immediately state that the integrated vorticity stratification was in error, so you had a foot of snow instead of sunny and warm conditions. Who would question that?

COLUMN A COLUMN B COLUMN C
0. integrated thermal equilibrium
1. psuedo vorticity transfer
2. dynamic solenoidal stratification
3. potential molecular balance
4. diurnal orographic field
5. stratospheric turbulent correlation
6. cumulative solar discontinuity
7. absolute inertial advection
8. kinematic rotational trajectory
9. conditional vapor function
